Lulu’s Day at the Beach

20 Mar

In January, we went to visit our awesome friends, The Hills. They live in beautiful southern California and I’m always jealous of the great weather they have! We had a terrific weekend of beach bonfires, burgers by the ocean, Sprinkles cupcakes, Ferris wheel rides and even a little shopping! Lulu’s favorite part of the trip was going to the beach for the first time!

She was pretty timid at first and never went really far into the water, but she still had a blast! Baby Adams and I had a blast too!

Here is Lulu with her new BFF, Toby. Toby is a golden doodle which is what people always think Lulu is.

Enjoying the sun!

We attempted to get a picture with both dogs and this was the best we could do!

Oh how I wish this was in my backyard!

Lulu’s Final Hurrah

12 May

Tomorrow Lulu is getting spayed. She has no idea what is coming in just a few hours. We decided to have a picnic at the park to give her one final hurrah. After picking up subs and fruit from Publix, we went to Tanyard Creek Park off Collier Rd. I haven’t been to this park in awhile, but they recently built part of the Beltline Trail through the park. It is really nice and we plan to come back to this park again soon.

We gave Lulu a dinner of lunch meat, her favorite treat. Oh, Lulu if only you knew what was coming…

Lulu has recently taken an interest in birds (just like her mom) and she finally got a chance to chase one since she was off her leash.

Hope you enjoyed your fun evening Lulu. Sorry about tomorrow. :(

Serenbe

21 Mar

We drove down to Serenbe this weekend to enjoy the nice non-rainy weather.

Lulu took the wheel while we were in traffic.

I have heard a lot about Serenbe and was really looking forward to checking it out. It is really nice and the hiking trails were fantastic.

Lulu had fun on the slide at the playground.

We decided to see what would happen if we let Lulu off her leash. So we unhooked her and off she went! She literally ran circles around us the whole entire time. She is such a country dog and enjoyed every minute of running in the woods. We passed this creek and Lulu just jumped right in the water. I was really surprised at her! She was a little scared of the water but seemed to do pretty well.

We hiked over to a waterfall and along the way, Lulu discovered horse poop. She wasn’t on the leash for us to stop her so she managed to gobble some down. Gross indeed.

Lulu is really scared here.  I was calling her to come back across the water to me and she finally jumped in.

The waterfall

The only good picture Normer took of me. And I look really tired even though I got 12 hours of sleep.

Beautiful Serenbe with the camouflaged Lulu.

I think we will be heading down to Serenbe a lot when the weather stays warm!

Lulu’s Tag

6 Feb

Lulu is official! She has her own name tag now. I ordered Lulu’s tag from Etsy and I absolutely love it! It was made by Nicola.

Here’s an up close shot:

We love you Lulu!!

Furry News

29 Dec

Today started out a pretty normal day. Woke up, ate breakfast, did some errands, had lunch with a friend. Then I came home and spent some time surfing the WWW. One of my favorite spots these days is to check in on the puppies and see how they are doing. I’m also looking to make sure that the puppy I want hasn’t been taken yet. Well, imagine my shock when I get to the website and my little puppy is gone. She’s not on the main page anymore, she’s on the Spoken For page. I immediately started crying thinking that she was gone forever and some other lucky person will get her instead of me. I also called Normer and told him how upset I was that she was taken. But suddenly a glimmer of hope popped up when I realized that she was spoken for by these initials: SNA. Hmm. Sound familiar? Could it be coincidental that she would be taken by someone with those same initials?

The answer is no, it’s not a coincidence, it’s just my sweet husband putting a deposit on my little beloved puppy. And not a moment to late either. We almost lost her to another couple but thankfully they were running late.

I’m so happy to have this little pup join our family in two weeks! I can’t wait!! We are still thinking of names so I’ll let you know when we name her!
